San Francisco BART Powell

San Francisco BART Powell Station is arguably the heart of the BART system, located centrally in downtown San Francisco.

Taking San Francisco BART and other public transportation ensures you are taking advantage of all #lTheAffordableStuff.

From Powell Station, it is an easy walk to the different parts of the city, like the terminus of San Francisco’s Cable Car, Union Square, the Embarcadero/Ferry Building, the city’s famed neighborhoods, Nob Hill and Chinatown, among very many others. A leisurely walk to these destinations is a sure way of doing all #TheAffordableStuff while you’re visiting San Francisco.

I would personally choose San Francisco BART Powell Station as the starting point of any walking trip that would explore #AllTheAffordableStuff in these San Francisco neighborhoods: Chinatown, Nob Hill, FiDi, North Beach, Little Italy, Coit Tower, Russian Hills, SoMa, Yerba Buena Park, Salesforce Tower, and Market Street.

Coming from the East Bay, Powell Station is the 3rd station after crossing the Bay Bridge. However, you won’t be seeing the Bay Bridge or even The San Francisco Bay as the BART Train becomes subterranean (underground). The first BART station upon crossing the Bay is the Embarcadero followed by Montgomery Station and then Powell Station.

From the San Francisco International (SFO) Airport, Powell Station is the 10th station after leaving the SFO station. Powell Station comes after Civic Center Station where you may find the San Francisco City Hall complex at street level.
