Quaint culinary experience which combines affordability and accessibility

A culinary experience which combines affordability and accessibility, New Fortune Restaurant is a certified #affordablestuff. It is located just a few steps from the Stockton Street Tunnel that connects San Francisco’s historic Chinatown to Union Square and downtown.

Consequently, New Fortune Restaurant has become famous for its budget-friendly menu attracting not only tourists but also locals who live nearby. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes at reasonable prices.

Accordingly, let me show you my usual orders:

1). Preserved egg w/ pork porridge

2). Beef stew wonton noodle soup

3). Wonton noodle soup

4). Mapo tofu (spicy)

5). House special fried rice

6). Seafood or beef pan fried noodles

7) Salt and pepper pork chop

8) Sweet and sour pork chop

9) Spareribs with black bean in sauce

Of course, I won’t order all of these at one time not unless I am with a group of friends and/or family.

To reach the Stockton tunnel just locate where the Apple store is from Union Square. The Apple store is located smack at the corner of Stockton St. and Post St. Once you are there, take a look in both directions. You will then go in the direction of where the tunnel is. Take the sidewalk on the left side of the street as this will lead you directly to New Fortune Restaurant’s doorstep. It is an 8- to 10-minute walk to get through the tunnel. Sometimes, there is a saxophonist playing by the tunnel’s entrance. This makes for a pretty romantic walk if you are with your special someone.

Once you are done eating, you can also explore the vegetable, seafood, meat  markets down the street in Stockton St. Then, you can go to San Francisco Chinatown’s main street which is Grant St. Just take a right from Stockton St. and it should take you there. Remember that going to Grant Street from Stockton St. is downhill. You are in the wrong direction if you are going uphill. You can’t miss Grant street as it has Chinese lanterns hanging across the whole length of it. Additionally,  I have a separate blog post on exploring San Francisco Chinatown (click here: https://theaffordablestuff.com/exploring-the-vibrance-of-san-franciscos-chinatown/). if it is your first time visiting, this blog post may provide you with an overview of San Francisco Chinatown.

In conclusion, I believe that New Fortune Restaurant is a certified #affordablestuff as it provides a culinary experience which combines affordability and accessibility
